I call these rustic because of the rough finish. They are obviously not the perfectly shaped smooth little cake balls you see through the Internet. Not that I mind, because I love the natural rustic look (more and more so these days), but I honestly don’t know how they do it!
No matter how many times I tried (using different candy melts from different brands) mine just never are so perfectly round and smooth. I always follow the instructions from the package, but the texture of the candy is too thick and therefor it can’t cover the cake pops evenly .
If I dip the cake pops in the melted candy they fall down of the sticks. If I pour the chocolate directly on the cake pops it wont flow, and needs to be “fixed” with a knife. Either way it’s just not right. Makes me think that there is something missing, some sort of secret ingredient which needs to be added in order to make perfect results. Also, maybe cake pops are NOT my specialty and maybe I should just make my peace with it and get over it 🙂
An the other hand these tasted very good though! Oreo biscuits smashed and mixed with cream and crafted in balls. Yummy…. Oreo fans, these are calling for you! 🙂
